Kitchcart earns doctorate at Ohio State University

Dr. Aaron Kithcart

TOLEDO CHRONICLE – Toledo resident Aaron Kithcart has earned a doctoral degree in Neuroimmunology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Kithcart, is the son of Luann Kithcart, Tama, and Keith Kithcart, Toledo. He graduated from South Tama High School in 1999.

Dr. Kithcart received his PhD on June 14 in Ohio Stadium from Ohio State President Dr. Gordon E. Gee.

His doctoral dissertation was titled, “Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor: A Key Mediator of Inflammatory Disease.”

Kithcart’s research led to the development of a new drug that will enter clinical trials in 2010. Following graduation, he will

continue at Ohio State to complete the remainder of his medical degree as part

of a combined MD/PhD program.
