State Bank of Toledo Excited to Announce Board of Director and Leadership Team Appointments

State Bank of Toledo (SBT) has announced changes to its executive leadership and board of directors, marking a new chapter for the bank that has been planting hometown roots in Tama County since 1927.
The bank has bid farewell to three longtime board members who have decided to retire from their positions. Jim Roan (Chairman), Joe Boll, and Bill Skow are stepping down from the board of directors after years of dedicated service to the bank and local community.
Their departure paves the way for fresh perspectives, with three new members Amanda Heck, Amanda Wobeter, and John Koshak, who have been appointed to fill the vacant positions. SBT is excited to bring these individuals diverse experience and expertise to the board to help guide future strategic direction.
In addition to board changes, SBT has restructured its executive leadership team roles. Current President, John Kavalier, has assumed expanded responsibilities as both Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Meanwhile, Executive Vice President, John Koshak, in addition to his new board role, has taken on the appointment of bank President.
“We’re grateful for the tremendous contributions Jim, Joe, and Bill have made to our board over the years,” said John Kavalier, who has assumed the dual roles of Board Chairman and CEO. “Their wisdom and dedication have helped shape State Bank of Toledo into the strong community bank it is today.”
Kavalier emphasized the leadership team changes position the bank for continued growth while maintaining its strong community focus. “This transition allows us to build upon our solid foundation while continuing to adapt to the evolving needs of our customers and community. With John Koshak stepping into serve as our President, we have a strong foundation to drive our strategic initiatives forward.”
State Bank of Toledo continues to serve customers throughout Tama County and the surrounding areas, providing traditional banking services while supporting countless community organizations. The leadership changes were officially implemented following the most recent Board of Directors meeting, May 20, 2025.
