Meskwaki Bingo and Casino set to re-open July 1

Meskwaki Bingo Casino and Hotel (MBCH) is tentatively set to reopen on Wednesday, July 1 after a shutdown that has lasted over three months. Closure of the casino and hotel was announced via Facebook on March 16. The Meskwaki Tribal Council and MBCH Executive Management jointly agreed upon the measure that took effect on Tuesday, March 17. The closure has served as a preventative measure to ensure the health and well-being of both the staff and guests as the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus began to be reported across the state and nation.

MBCH honored all employees’ base pay rates and their benefits during the closure. The casino had not experienced any cases of COVID-19 and indicated online that the action was solely a precaution.

A shelter in place order for those living on the Meskwaki Settlement was originally issued on March 21 and later extended through June 15th.

All MBCH team members will continue to receive their base pay rates and health benefits through July 1.
