Measured openings allowed today in Tama County

Despite continuing as one of 22 Iowa counties on the COVID-19 hot spot list, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced during her Wednesday, May 13, news conference a number of businesses will be able to reopen today including in Tama County.

Among those included are restaurants, hair salons, barber shops and exercise and tanning facilities and retail stores.

Restrictions on capacity, social-distancing and other measures will be in effect and the Iowa and Tama County departments of health urge those over age 65 and with medical conditions to continue to stay at home.

Tama County Public Health listed 348 positive cases in the department’s count on Tuesday, May 12. There have been 13 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the county.
