Ron Slechta, Kalona, was honored as a Master Editor-Publisher at the 2017 Iowa Newspaper?Association convention in Des Moines on Feb. 3.

Slechta, and his wife Helen, recently sold The Kalona News, The Lone Tree Reporter and The Highland Review which they had published since 1992.

Previously they had owned an interest in The Tama News-Herald where Ron Slechta served as editor.
