“I’ve come back to my home community to bring additional options for health care – to help the community by bringing a whole health approach and improve the well-being of patients” said Giovanna Seitz, D.C. in her new office, Seitz Family Chiropractic in Toledo.

A June, 2015, graduate of Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Seitz was in practice with Kimberly Maxwell D.C. in Bozman, Mont., before returning recently to her home area with her husband, Nickolas.

There she said she received much additional exposure and training in areas of pre-natal, infant and child care from Maxwell whose practice centered around this age group.

Dr. Seitz says she will focus on these age groups here, as well. However, she is quick to emphasize her office is open to all “I want to see everybody” and her three-plus years at Palmer college prepared her for caring for all age groups. Her office theme is “A Clear View to Your Family’s Health.”

Seitz Family Chiropractic office is located adjacent to the Sunshine Laundry at 507 S. County Road (U.S. Highway 63.) The building affords two adjusting rooms and an office-consultation space as well as waiting room and reception area.

Appointments are available on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7 – 11 a.m. and 2 -6 p.m., Tuesday 2-6 p.m. and Friday 7 a.m. – noon.

The office telephone is 641-484-5588.

Parking, including space for differently-abled, is located at the front entrance.

The office formerly housed Plaza Family Dental and Central Iowa Family Planning.

Dr. Seitz is the daughter of Kim and Connie Fontinel, rural Tama. She is a 2003 graduate of South Tama High School. She has a brother, Gabe, who along with her husband, Nickolas, are both employed at Jeld-Wen in Grinnell.

She began her college career studying Equine Science at Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids, then went to Montana State University at Bozman for health studies before enrolling at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Seitz said her interest in chiropractic first developed when, as a young person, she would see her farmer father literally “crawling on the floor with pain” from his labor. He would then receive care from H.E. Jewell, D.C. in Toledo.

Following treatment, her father would be restored to good health she said.

She also credits Dr. Jewell with providing information for ongoing care and support to the family which aided her father’s health.
