Former Pheasant Ridge Care Facility- Tama County Care Facility - County Home. News-Herald - Chronicle file/John Speer
The former Tama County Home, more recently known as Pheasant Ridge Care Center, was a subject of discussion for Tama County Supervisors on Monday, Oct. 26.
The building is now empty and the water turned off. At the present time no decision has been made as to what should be done with the building and grounds.
It was suggested an advertisement should be published.
One of the automobiles used by the Tama County Health Department was recently in an accident and needed to be replaced.
Tami Wise, county insurance coordinator told supervisors the Health Department was wanting to purchase a car available from the Case Management and CPC department.
Supervisors agreed this could be done with no problems.
County Engineer Lyle Brehm had two utility permits for approval, one from Central Iowa Water to do work in Spring Creek Township, and one from Interstate Power for work in Oneida Township.
Brehm said the road department was doing some work on guard rail repairs. Brehm also said there is a box culvert in bad repair in the northern part of Tama County and they would replace this with a steel pipe.
