Exploding with holiday cheer in Tama-Toledo on Sat. Nov. 30

There’s lots of holiday events to kick off the season set for next Saturday, Nov. 30, in Tama-Toledo, sponsored by the Tama-Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce.

The fun gets underway from 7-10 a.m. with Breakfast with Santa at the Tama Civic Center, 305 Siegel.

The jolly old gent will be making his annual stop for photos with all the kids.

A Holiday Craft Fair will be featured from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the South Tama High School Gym, 1715 Harding, Tama.

A chili lunch will be offered in the High School Cafeteria served by Toledo-Tama Kiwanis.

Wieting Theatre wreaths will be on display for silent auction bidding during the Craft Show. Proceeds from the wreath sale benefit the Wieting restoration fund.

From 2-4 p.m. Kids Gingerbread House Crafting will be offered at the Toledo Public Library, 205 East High St.

Mrs. Claus will be in town for a special story time at the Tama County Historical Society Museum Log Cabin on East Street, just east of the Museum at North Broadway and State in downtown Toledo. Storytime will be from 4:15-5:15 p.m.

At 5:45 p.m. the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on the Tama County Courthouse Square in downtown Toledo.

At 6 p.m. the annual Grand Lighted Parade will take place also in downtown Toledo.

A free movie “Arthur Christmas” will be presented at the Wieting following the parade sponsored by Lincoln Savings Bank.
