Activities will abound in Tama-Toledo on Saturday, Nov. 30, Chamber of Commerce coordinator Cassie Sokol promises.

Young people can enjoy Breakfast with Santa from 7-10 a.m. at the Tama Civic Center, 305 Siegel, where the Tama firefighters and Ambulance service crew will be serving their famous pancake breakfast. Santa will oblige all kids who would like to tell them their Christmas wishes and have their photo taken with the jolly old gent.

Beginning at 10 a.m. and open until 4 p.m., the action moves to the South Tama High School Gym, 1515 Harding, Tama, for a Holiday Craft Fair. The entrance fee is a non-perishable food item which will be given to the South Tama Food Pantry.

Wreaths for the Wieting Theatre restoration benefit will be on display at the Craft Fair for silent auction bidding.

A chili lunch will be served in the high school cafeteria by the Toledo-Tama Kiwanis.

The Chamber of Commerce will provide free gift wrapping for craft show purchases.

Gingerbread house decorating for kids will be from 2-4 p.m. at the Toledo Public library, 205 East High, with pre-registration requested by calling 641-484-6661.

Mrs. Claus will be reading a special story at the Tama County Historical Society Museum, just east of the museum at North Broadway and State streets from 4:15 – 5:15 p.m. Kids who are pre-registered for Mrs. Claus’ storytime will receive a letter from the North Pole. Also phone 641-484-6661 to pre-register.

At 5:45 p.m. the annual lighting of the Tama County Courthouse Square is on tap followed by the Grand Lighted Parade at 6 p.m. on High Street in downtown Toledo.

A free move “Arthur Christmas” will be shown at the Wieting Theatre following the parade sponsored by Lincoln Savings Bank.
