Traer’s Clear Line Industries which currently has 30 employees plans to add 90 more to its workforce Tama County Economic Development Director Heath Kellogg announced Tuesday night.

Located on the south side of Traer on U.S. Highway 63, the company is the major U.S. company which chromes industrial food blades. These are used in food processing by the makers of such products as Mars candy bars, Blue Bunny and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, Kellogg said.

Kellogg said Clear Line recently signed to chrome plate motorcycle parts for a major U.S. manufacturer and exhaust stacks for semi trailer trucks for a Chicago manufacturer.

The company has been in business for 25 years.
