Seven things to know from Monday’s Toledo city council meeting

On January 23rd

Bills paid from 1/10-1/23 in the amount of $96,916.56 and payroll in the amount of $28,380.11.

Fareway was approved for their class E alcohol renewal.

An amendment to update Kwik Star #710 ownership was approved.

Clint Werner of the South Tama School board requested the council waive the building permit fee for the new middle school being built. The estimated cost would be over $50,000. The Council approved his request to waive the building permit fee.

The public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2024 budget has been scheduled for Feb. 13.

Resolution 2023-04, the designation of official newspapers for the city, was approved.

Correction: Project Aware, an all-volunteer watershed awareness river expedition and the state’s largest river cleanup event, wish to come to Toledo to help clean up the Iowa River from July 9-12, not Deer Creek.
