Lincoln Savings Bank giving away children’s books through drive-thrus

Lincoln Savings Bank has announced that several of their branches will be giving away free children’s books to drive-thru customers while supplies last. The bank partnered with children’s book vendor, Scholastic, to help young Iowa readers reconnect with the books they know and love.

Currently, the bank’s Tama and 11 other branches are all giving out children’s books while supplies last

“Back when I was growing up, books were always an escape from the every day,” shared Ashley Ungs, LSB Marketing and Sales Operations Manager. “Whether it was magical worlds, historical quests, or simply another point of view, these pages cracked the door on our imaginations, offering hope during difficult days. Our goal at LSB is to share this hope, and give kids another story to dive into amidst our current reality.”

The announcement has reverberated throughout the Iowa communities, garnering an astounding amount of engagement online, with many leaving words of thanks and encouragement.

“We have received an outpouring of support,” commented Sue Carnahan, LSB Regional Retail Leader. “Customers have been so appreciative and thankful to have something educational and creative for their kids and teens to dive into. We may need to get some more books!”

At Lincoln Savings Bank, our saga is, “We love the people we work with and customers we serve”. We couldn’t be more thankful to be serving our customers both young and old during this uncertain time. Our team is grateful to partner with organizations such as Scholastic, to make community initiatives like this a reality.

One day at a time, one step at a time, we’ll get through this together.
