You may use your own imagination to fashion a work of art by decorating a gourd to design a birdhouse, small planter or lovely decor and unique treasure for your home.

A hands-on gourd painting workshop is being offered on Tuesday evening, Oct. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Toledo Public Library. Registration fee is five dollars due by the deadline of Oct. 5 with a limit of 20 participants, ages 14 and up.

Gourds, paints, inks and more will be supplied.

Master Gardners Elisa Bardole and BJ Reed will share a few of their own gourd creations and experiences while you decorate a gourd of your choice.
