The Toledo Library hosted a Barn Quilt Painting Program with instructor – author Suzi Parron. Suzi has written two books, Following the Barn Quilt Trail and Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement.

Suzi travels around the country providing lectures on the history of the Barn Quilt Movement and she also instructs barn quilt painting classes.

This group of painters each painted one 2′ x 2′ quilt from beginning to end.

To get started, each painter chose their own design to put on the pre-painted board. Next, Suzi taught the group how to measure and tape their design.

Finally, each participant chose their own colors to use to make their quilt their own. This entire process took a bit over four hours to complete.

Everyone had a fantastic time learning from Suzi; she was so much fun and taught everyone important new skills. All the painters were very proud of each other for completing such beautiful Barn Quilts.

Each was a unique work of art
