Amateur actors surprise director in Kiwanian Wieting production

Rehearsal is moving along very well The Rehearsal is moving along very well. The Kiwanian players are proving to be a surprise. They are quick learners, and they aren’t afraid to have fun with their roles. The production of the Mysterious, Gruesome, Yet Morbidly Fascinating Murder at the Wieting looks very promising.

We have Sara Fiesel – 5’2″ launching a slap at 6’2″ John Lloyd – and she does it with gusto! We have Yvonne Mallory breaking up a quarrel by confiscating a ribbon-bedecked pole. We have the whole cast humming the theme song from Addams Family complete with the snap snaps. There is Donna Smith, who does the best blood-curdling scream in the business. And, of course, we have Brent Hereen, who is having great fun in adding to his lines as the moment inspires him. So far he has gotten by with it because Director Mary-Fasse Shaw finds it pretty funny. The rest of the cast does, too. But she might put the kabosh on it when he tries to lead the cast off stage doing the Igor walk from Young Frankenstein.

So on Sunday, September 24th at 2 PM, come to the Wieting and see this creation. It’s very doubtful that you could walk out of the theater without having had some good laughs.
