The James R. Kalina unit 226 Elberon American Legion Auxiliary met July 9, 2015 with 5 members present.

Treasurer’s report was read and filed for audit.

A thank you was read from Ashley Price. She received our Auxiliary Merit award..

Old Business included a report on the Tama County joint meeting held in Clutier June 23rd. Flag disposal ceremony was held following a potluck supper. No Tama County picnic will be held at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown this year because of construction. Former Department Commander, the late Carroll Wagner, will be recognized at Department Convention held in Cedar Rapids July 17-19.

Next joint county meeting will be September 22nd in Garwin at 7:00.

New Business included 2 pin fines.

A card of cheer was signed for Wilma Parizek and a sympathy card signed for Dick and Jolene Denbow.

Volunteers will audit the treasurer’s book at our next meeting.

Members of the Elberon Legion and Auxiliary are encouraged to attend the next Elberon City council meeting for discussion on using a room for storage in the community center. The council meeting is August 3rd at 6:30 pm.
