There’s still time to nominate your pick for the annual Tama citizen of the year award. But, hurry- the deadline is tomorrow, May 8, at noon.

To nominate simply submit your choice to the Tama Firefighters Assoc. c/o Tama City Clerk, 305 Siegel, Tama IA 52339. Tell why you think the person deserves this recognition.

Each year, since 1982, the Firefighters Association has chosen from the nominees submitted a Tama citizen who has contributed to the quality of life in Tama through volunteer efforts.

The 2008 Tama Citizen of the Year will be honored at a reception at the Tama Fire Station on Friday, May 16, at 7 p.m.

And,1990- Inez Novotny; 1991- Ron Cory; 1992- Bob Thomas; 1993- Leonard Taylor; 1994- Roger Hill; 1995- Rose McNamee; 1996- Ed Draisey; 1997- Mike Haughey; 1998- Virginia Allen; 1999- Don Wacha.
