Arrest Report – Tama County Jail

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

March 24

William Mitchell Jones, 42, of Traer was arrested by Tama Police on 26 counts of violating a no contact order.

March 25

Miguel Angel Salgado, 29, of Toledo was arrested by Tama Police for domestic assault. Salgado was released on March 26 on conditions of a pre-trial release agreement.

Juan Michael Araujo Rocha, 34, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense), driving with a license that was revoked, driving without a valid driver’s license, failure to display registration plate and failure to provide proof of financial liability. Araujo Rocha was released on March 26 on his own recognizance.

March 26

Gregory Allen Scminkey, 64, of Middle Amana was arrested by Meskwaki Police for OWI (1st offense), open container violation and for speeding. Scminkey was released the same day on his own recognizance.

March 27

Juan Manuel Mendoza Garcia, 54, of Marshalltown was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense) and for failure to obey stop/yield sign. Mendoza Garcia was released the same day on his own recognizance.

Hector Velazquez Cornelio, 35, of Fitchburg, Wis. was arrested by Toledo Police for child endangerment, driving without a valid drivers license, failure to provide proof of financial liability, operating a non-registered vehicle, speeding and reckless driving. Velazquez Cornelio was released on March 28 on bond.

Joseph Robert Sanders, 41, of Victor was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for contempt of court. Sanders was released on March 31 on conditions of a pre-trial release agreement.

March 28

Ricky Lee Keahna Jr., 35, of Tama was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for OWI (1st offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, speeding, driving under suspension and for operating a vehicle with a canceled or suspended registration. Keahna was released the same day on his own recognizance.

Bradley Jordan Hill, 25, of Marion was arrested by Meskwaki Police for one count of forgery and for driving under suspension.

Thomas Kevin Gomes, 63, of Clutier was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for stalking in violation of a protective order, OWI (1st offense) and violation of probation.

March 29

Irene Ray Rivers, 32, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for driving while barred and on a warrant for failure to appear in court. Rivers was released the same day on her own recognizance.

Miguel Angel Salgado, 29, of Toledo was arrested by Tama Police for violating a no contact order. Salgado was released on March 30 on bond.

Colton John Kroeger, 21, of Toledo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for probation violation.

Gary Wayne Brown Jr., 43, of Grinnell was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for contempt of court.

Ivan Anthony Betancourt-Rascon, 21, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense) and for driving without a valid driver’s license. Betancourt-Rascon was released the same day.

March 30

Nicole Annette Peyton, 39, of Cedar Rapids was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for failure to maintain control of a vehicle, OWI (1st offense) and for driving under suspension. Peyton was transferred on March 31.

Darius La’Sean Handcox, 27, of Waterloo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for OWI (1st offense). Handcox was released on March 31 on his own recognizance.

Adrian Ismael Castanon, 24, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense), possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and for failure to obey a stop/yield sign. Castanon was released the same day on his own recognizance.

March 31

Anthony Kapayou, 25, of Iowa City was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violation of parole.

Simon Lee Buffalo, 41, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (3rd offense).

Chaske Marie Brown, 32, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for possession of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

COURT NEWS

Joseph David Dolezal, 59, of Toledo made an initial appearance while in custody in district court on April 4 to charges including one count of domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness-first offense (serious misdemeanor). Charges stem from an incident that took place on April 3, 2022, at Dolezal’s Toledo residence. According to the criminal complaint, Tama and Toledo officers were dispatched to Dolezal’s residence where upon arrival spoke with the victim in the case who stated they had been assaulted by Dolezal. Officers observed a bruise on the victim’s left and right arm, injuries which were documented and photographed. The victim also showed an officer a video of Dolezal assaulting them. A preliminary hearing has been set for April 22, at 9:00 a.m. A no contact order of protection was issued for the victim in this case. Dolezal did not request court-appointed counsel. Dolezal was released on his own recognizance.

Michael Lee Bradley, 52, of Traer, had his jury trial that was previously scheduled for March 28, 2022, reset to May 2, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. Bradley is charged with two counts of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon (aggravated misdemeanor). Charges stem from an incident which took place on October 10, 2020, in Traer. According to the criminal complaint in this case, Bradley allegedly assaulted the juvenile victim in this case by using a motor vehicle as a dangerous weapon. Bradley is represented by attorney Audra Faye Saunders of Des Moines.
