Arrest Report – Tama County Jail

December 3-9, 2021

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Dec. 3

Owen David Beach, 21, of Marshalltown was arrested by Meskwaki Police for OWI (1st offense) and speeding. Beach was released the same day.

Mina Annabeth Youngbear, 25, of Toledo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violation of probation. Youngbear was released on Dec. 6 on bond.

Leo Duane Bullshoe Jr., 57, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for failure to appear in court. Bullshoe was released on Dec. 4 on bond.

Dustin Allen Schroeder, 32, of Grundy Center was arrested by Toledo Police for driving while barred, operating a vehicle with suspended registration, failure to provide proof of financial liability, improper rear lamps and violation of restricted license. Schroeder was released on Dec. 4 on bond.

Dec. 4

Tyler Dean Erickson, 29, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (2nd offense), failure to obey stop/yield sign and for improper registration plate lamp. Erickson was released the same day.

Diego Gavino Guzman Villafana, 20, of Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense) and for dark window/windshield violation. Guzman Villafana was released on Dec. 5.

Dec. 5

Samuel James Ruben Melver, 34, of Cresco was arrested by Tama Police for OWI (2nd offense) and for interference with official acts. Melver was released on Dec. 6 on conditions of a pre-trial release.

Glenda Roberts, 45, of Tama was arrested by Meskwaki Police on warrants for OWI (1st offense), driving under suspension, failure to provide proof of financial liability, open container violation and improper use of lanes. Roberts was released Dec. 6 on her own recognizance.

Dec. 8

Tyrone Markeith Cook, 28, of Des Moines was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for public intoxication, speeding and for driving with no valid drivers license. Cook was released the same day after pleading guilty.

Dec. 9

Juan Manuel Jaime Lopez, 32, of Tama was arrested by Meskwaki Police for OWI (1st offense).

COURT NEWS

Cody Michael Deaver of Ankeny entered a written plea of not guilty in Tama County District Court on Dec. 1, 2021. Deaver is charged with one count of driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor. The incident occurred during a traffic stop on Nov. 12 on US Highway 30 W near the Meskwaki Settlement. Deaver had previously been charged for driving while barred on July 20, 2021. Trial is set for Feb. 21, 2022. Deaver is being represented by Attorney Nicholas Lombardi.

Vicente Munoz of Tama entered a written plea of not guilty in Tama County District Court on Dec. 2, 2021. Munoz is charged with one count of assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor violation. The incident occured on Oct. 9 at the Tama Ballroom entertainment venue. Munoz is said to have assaulted a man inside the men’s bathroom at the Tama Ballroom. Trial in the case is set for Feb. 21, 2022. At the time of the arraignment, Munoz was representing himself in court.

A warrant was issued for Ashley Elizabeth Lau of Victor after she failed to appear in Tama County Court on Dec. 2, 2021. Lau was scheduled for a change of plea hearing on Dec. 2 where she is charged with operating while under the influence (1st offense) and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana, 1st offense). The incident occured April 2, 2021 during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 30 in Tama County. Bond is set for $5,000. Lau is being represented by attorney Allan Richards.
