Arrest Report – Tama County Jail

Oct. 22

Austin James Hill, 34, West Des Moines was arrested by Meskwaki Police on a warrant.

Ryan James Dirks, 28, Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI-1st offense, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and carrying a weapon while intoxicated. Dirks was released on Oct. 23.

Oct. 23

Douglas Regin Thomas, 25, Tama was arrested by Tama Police for OWI-2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and an open container violation. Thomas was released on Oct. 28 after time served.

Oct. 24

Braeden Richard Mohrfeld, 24, Davenport was arrested by Toledo Police for assault and interference with official acts. Mohrfeld was released on his own recognizance on Oct. 25.

Kaylor Kyle Phillips, 30, Tama was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for operating a vehicle without owner’s consent and operating without a valid drivers license.

Henry Alfred Segovia, 39, Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police on a charge of 2nd degree burglary.

Oct. 25

Charles Lynn Poafpybitty, 47, was arrested by Toledo Police on five counts of probation violation. Poafpybitty was released on bond on Oct. 28.

Oct. 26

Quinten Duran Nelson, 31, Tama was arrested by Toledo Police on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

Oct. 27

Derek Darwin McCoy, 28, Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, controlled substance violation, drug tax stamp violation and unlawful possession of prescription drugs. McCoy was released on Oct. 28 on his own recognizance.

Oct. 28

Mark James Lee Kassuy, 26, Traer was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, controlled substance violation, careless driving and prohibited acts by a registrant.

Ciara Yvette Pacheco, 29, Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police on one count of domestic assault causing bodily injury.

COURT NEWS

Scott James Lewis, 18, was before the district court in custody on October 21 for an initial appearance on charges including harassment-1st degree (aggravated misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct-loud raucous noise (simple misdemeanor). Lewis was arrested on Oct. 20 by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office who had been dispatched to North Tama School for a student “out of control” including yelling and cursing in the hallway and making a statement about wanting to kill someone, according to a criminal complaint. Lewis was ordered to have no contact with North Tama County Schools nor to be within 200 feet of North Tama County Schools. A preliminary hearing is set for November 9, 2021 at 9 a.m. Lewis is being represented by attorney Scott Hunter of Marshalltown.

Alan Ryan Panosh, 37, Tama filed a written plea of guilty with the district court on October 21 to one count of domestic abuse assault (aggravated misdemeanor), one count of child endangerment (aggravated misdemeanor), one count of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness (serious misdemeanor), and one count of possession of marijuana-first offense (serious misdemeanor) after having previously pled not guilty on August 20, 2021. Charges in the case stem from a domestic assault incident which took place on June 19, 2021 and was reported to the Tama Police Department Iowa via the Department of Human Services. Judgement was deferred for a period of two years in the case and Panosh was sentenced to unsupervised probation under the conditions of: no further law violations; enrolling, attending, and successfully completing and paying for the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program; making restitution for all sums due and owing. Panosh was ordered to pay the civil penalty for deferred judgments in the amount of $855 on Count 1, $855 on Count 2, $430 on Count 3, and $430 on Count 4, plus a $90 domestic abuse surcharge as well as court costs. Panosh is represented by attorney Audra Faye Saunders of Des Moines.

Victor Pop Perez, 43, Toledo was before the district court on October 21 for an arraignment hearing. In a written arraignment, Perez pled not guilty to one count of sexual abuse-3rd degree (Class C felony). Perez was arrested on September 9, 2021 by the Toledo Police Department for allegedly performing a sex act by force on the victim in the case against their will. A no contact order was issued on September 20, 2021. Perez has waived his right to a speedy trial. A jury trial is scheduled for January 24, 2022. Perez is being represented by attorney Scott Hunter of Marshalltown.
