South Tama senior Ryan Roberts will continue her basketball career next winter with the Marshalltown Community College Tigers.

The Tigers are coached by Steve Garber. Garber was hired as the Marshalltown Community College women’s basketball head coach in the fall of 2013. Garber joins MCC after collecting over 200 career wins, including the 2006 NJCAA Division II National Championship at Illinois Central College.

The Tigers were 4-25 in the 2015-16 season. Roberts will join another local player Shyannon Wolf who graduated from Meskwaki Settlement School in 2015.

Roberts was excited about the opportunity stating, “I like meeting new people and getting to play with new people. It brings me closer to people who I normally wouldn’t talk to in real life. It’s a special connection between me and my teammates that I really like.”

Roberts is the daughter of Ryan Roberts and Dana Davenport.
