"Bedikwea" Dana Allison Brown, 20, of Tama, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at her home in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Homer Bear Jr. as speaker. A Traditional Wake will be held Tuesday evening at the Harlan Brown Residence, 245 Meskwaki Road, on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.
Dana was born on August 5, 1996, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Heath and Lolita (Redman) Brown. She graduated from the Meskwaki Settlement School in rural Tama. Dana loved to read, bead, going to pow-wows, baking, traveling, and being with the kids. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working out with her dad and siblings.
Survivors include her parents, Heath and Lolita Brown of Tama; one brother, Dontay Brown of Tama; one sister, Ayanna Brown of Tama; grandparents, Harlan and Henrietta Brown of Tama and Larry and Dianne McKay of Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, Canada; aunts and uncles, Steadman Brown, Hannah Brown, Hallie Brown, Jolene Redman, Andrea Redman, Arthur Redman Jr., Steve Redman, Angeline Redman, Bevin Redman, Jeff Taylor, Tracey Taylor, and Samantha Taylor.

Preceding her in death was her grandfather, Arthur Redman Sr.; great-grandparents, Patricia Brown, Wilson Brown, John and Grace Papakee, and John and Marge Pahmahmie, Stella Goodwill, Alex Goodwill, Adeline Redman, and Russell Redman; aunt, Amber Redman; a great-aunt, Janell Cadue; and a great-uncle, Howard "Howie" Goodwill.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
