Dancers in Company is directed by Charlotte Adams. Her choreography has been described as "arresting" (The New York Times), "gorgeous" and "delicious" (The Tucson Weekly), describing a style that combines Adams' signature wit and athleticism with an eye for the poetry of human foibles.
In 2001, Charlotte Adams and Dancers in Company had its premiere performance at New York's Joyce SoHo and was selected for return seasons in 2003 and 2006.
Adams joined the faculty in the Department of Dance at the University of Iowa in 1998, teaching modern technique, dance kinesiology, choreography, and yoga.
