Jean Neas, a resident of Paso Robles, Calif., died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, after a short illness. She was born on March 24, 1947, in Marshalltown, the daughter of Roy W. Weaver and Mary E. (Gary) Weaver of Toledo. She was a graduate of South Tama County High School in 1965 and the University of Nebraska (Omaha) in 1990 with a degree in Art Education.
Jean was a successful and accomplished artist and an active member and a director of the Central Coast Water Color Society. She was an active member of the Paso Robles Art Association and participated in Open Studios for over 10 years. Her art is enjoyed in the homes of many buyers throughout San Luis Obispo County as well as in the homes of her many friends and admirers.
Jean is survived by her husband, Al Neas; her son, Christopher Hull (Erin) and their children Lucas and Madelyn of Salt Lake, Utah; daughter, Andrea and her daughter, Soleil Bruner Hull of San Diego; twin brother, John Weaver (Donna), rural Chelsea; nephews Matthew Weaver (Courtney) of Granger, Iowa and Timothy Weaver (Natalie) of Waverly, Va.
Jean's celebration of life was held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Castoro Cellars, in Templeton, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Art Smart Program, which supports art education in the Paso Robles schools for kindergarten through grade five.
