What's happening at the Wieting

October 3, 2013

I'm sorry to be such a pest about this subject but wonder if you really want to have a movie theatre in your town! By that I mean we need volunteers to help keep this open and running. Do you know how close it came to closing before we reorganized? We were down to 3 Guild members and each volunteer worked each weekend.

We need people to sell tickets, sell concessions and monitor the patrons during the movie.

Selling tickets requires you to be at the theatre from 6:15 to 8:00. You tally ticket sales, count the money and record sales. Most are done by 8:00 and leave.

To work in concessions you work 6:15 to 8:00. During that time you make popcorn, sell concessions, clean work area and count and record sales. We don't sell after 8:00. The concession help can either leave or stay and help clean the main theatre area.

Monitors arrive at the theatre by 6:15, receive a flashlight, decide which area they want to work main floor or balcony, monitor patrons during the movie, clean area after movie and leave when work is finished.

Everyone receives the same compensation for working; a movie pass, a drink and a popcorn.

Are you willing to donate 3-31/2 hours two weekends a month? If so, call Denise Fletcher at 484-5305, Barb Jordan at 484-6508 or RLou Snyder at 484-2187. Also you can call the theatre at 484-4440 and leave your name, phone number and what would be the best time to reach you.

Please help keep the Wieting open and running.

Thank you. We await your call. "See ya at the Wieting - - -"
