Kolaches, Rohlicky, Buchty and Zelnicky. If you don't know what these are, then come to Clutier during the first weekend in August and find out. If you do know what they are, come to Clutier where they will be available all weekend.
Kolache are the small round pastries with the various fruit or poppy seed fillings that most people are familiar with. Rohlicky are crescent shaped rolls with the poppy seed sprinkled on top. Buchty are buns with fruit filling, and zelnicky are buns with cabbage filling. We will also have tea rings available. Our talented bakers, Bernice Smolik, Linda Dvorak, Shirley Kubik, and Kristi Sienknecht will be working hard getting all of these goodies ready for Clutier's big weekend.
In addition to this, on Friday night at 5pm the Fun Day committee will be serving freshly grilled pork loins, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, water and pop, and at 6 pm JEV Winery will start their wine tasting.
Bring your lawn chairs, listen to Barefoot Becky, have a sandwich and some wine and finish off with some Czech Bakery for an ideal August evening.
On Saturday, August 3 the Tama County Cattlemen will be firing up their grill on Main Street after the parade for some great beef. Hot dogs and chips will be on hand in the lumber yard. From 5 pm to 7 pm the Clutier Firemen will be serving their famous roast hog with all the trimmings in the Fire Station. Kettle corn and Czech baked goods will be available all day.
Vitame Vas to everyone who comes to Clutier for two days of fun and food.
