The South Tama FFA Chapter was named champions of the product development activity for the Food Science Career Development Event held at Iowa State University in Ames on June 6.
Members of the team included: Bethany Wilson, Amy Novotny, Laura Novotny and Michelle Kroeger.
FFA teams from 19 chapters participated in this year's Career Development Event designed to provide the student an opportunity to display their agricultural knowledge and skills in the area of Food Science.
The 70 individuals who participated in the event completed several activities including demonstration of skills and problem solving in dealing with consumer concerns, food safety and sanitation, aroma identification, taste testing, and product differences. A written
examination was included along with a team product development.
