Hunter education to be offered in Tama County

A hunter education class will be held on June 20, 21, and 22 at Union Middle School in Dysart.

If you or someone you know needs to take this class, this is the time to do so. Do not procrastinate; enroll now.

Resident and non-resident hunters born after Jan. 1, 1972, must satisfactorily complete a hunter education course in order to obtain a hunting license. A person who is 11 years old or older may enroll in a course, but those who are 11 and successfully complete the course shall be issued a certificate of completion which becomes valid on that person's 12th birthday.

All students will need to register for the course at the following web site: iowadnr.gov/training.

The class will be held on Thursday, June 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, June 21 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 22, from 8 a.m. to noon.
