The STC Music Boosters are "ramping it up" the next few weeks as they continue to fund raise for their New York Trip and to also build the general music booster account.
In less than five months, the STC band and choir will be traveling on a bus filled with excitement as they head east to perform in places that they had only heard about.
The shirts that the performers will be wearing are presently being designed. There will be six T-shirts and polos for each student for their performances. We have a total of three possible designs, so far. If you would like to see the designs, they will be on display in the band room, or the design can be emailed to you by contacting Janice Upah.

Ultimate Image has partnered with the boosters and will be printing the designs on the shirts as soon as the Boosters are given the students/chaperone's shirt sizes to them. Band and Choir members can email the sizes needed to Janice Upah or Mike Carnahan.
Please contact them as soon as possible, so they can assure that all are done in time for the trip. Students will also need to plan on purchasing black shoes and khaki pants or shorts for the performances.
Nothing short, but dressy will indicate pride from within and will give the spectators of the performances a good impression of who and what state we are representing. Other upcoming events will be: Feb. 5 will be "tip night" at Pizza Ranch in Marshalltown, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Booster members/music students will be working during this time and at the end of the shift the music boosters will receive 10% of the sales during that time period and the workers will receive hourly credit.
Come and support the local music program and have your spouse "cook" that night at Pizza Ranch.
Another event that will be coming up Feb. 25 is the Parade of Bands Chili Supper and Bake Sale. You can come to an evening of entertainment, food, and take home some freshly baked items.
Other events that you can help support the music boosters is by attending the AAU Volleyball Tournaments and purchasing items at the concession stand. The dates of these tournaments will be February 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 16th and 17th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. By attending this, you will support the volleyball team as well as the music boosters.
If a music student or parent would like to work to earn money towards their trip account and also the general fund, they can also contact Carnahan, Upah or Mary Jo Cherveny.
On Feb. 15 the Music Boosters will sponsor a Formal Dance at the Middle School. More information will be coming.
Funds raised from these fundraisers will be going towards the general account. The general account is very low at this time. Some of the things that the general account needs to raise funding for are: a Music Department storage shed, approximate cost of $2,000; contest fees; and instruments needing to be replaced; just to name a few.
Other ways that you can help support the music boosters is attend music competitions, attend music concerts (the next one will be February 25th), give a gift in memory of someone, or purchase Kwik Star gas cards from any STC music student. For each one sold 9% goes back to the music students' account for the New York Trip.
