Deadline nears for Tama Co. grant apps.

January 17, 2013
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Non-profit agencies and governmental bodies serving Tama County are reminded of the approaching deadline for the 2013 funding cycle of the Tama County Community Foundation (TCCF), an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. Applications must be submitted by midnight on Thursday, January 31, so that grant awards can be determined and announced by April. This is an earlier deadline than in previous years, so that grants can be awarded prior to the summer construction season and the start of many organizations' fiscal years.

TCCF grants can be awarded to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and governmental entities. The grant applications are only available online this year, and only applications completed through the online system will be considered for funding. They can be accessed at www.tamaccf.org, through the "grants" menu on the website's home page. Grants can be awarded in seven broad areas of community enhancement. They include: Arts & Culture, Community Affairs & Development, Education, Environment, Health, Historic Preservation, and Human Services.

Questions related to the grant process should be addressed to Tom Wickersham, Program Director, at the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, at (319) 287-9106. Other questions related to the TCCF can be directed to Rick Krug, TCCF chair at (319) 478-2148.
