Donald Louis Rychnovsky, 80, died Jan. 1, 2013, at his home in Muskegon, Mich. after a one and one-half year struggle with cancer.
He was born May 25, 1932, in Tama to Dr. Lewis and Anna (Shollar) Rychnovsky. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After retiring from Howmet, he worked several years doing tool and mold consulting for various companies.
He was beloved husband of Barbara (ne Breja); loving father of Pamela (Timothy) Hesketh of Solon, Ohio, Stephen Rychnovsky of San Diego, Christine (Michael) Hiller of Twinsburg, Ohio, James (Virginia) Rychnovsky of Painesville, Ohio, and stepsons, Randy (Sabre) Riffle and Rick (Robin) Riffle, both of Tama; grandfather of six in Ohio and five in Iowa; and proud great-grandfather of quadruplets born on his 80th birthday; brother to Ruth Sweeny of Twinsburg, Ohio, and the late Marcella Kucera.

Hrabak Funeral, Belle Plaine, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial services are Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine. Rosary is at 6 p.m.
