In this weeks column I will review the first half of 2014 events taking place at the Wieting.

We had a chance to be a kid again by viewing the old “Floppy” tv show and special events he attended, especially at the State Fair.

Then we had a visit and talk from U.S. Grant.

How about the Green Gravel comedy show? That was certainly a different but entertaining venue.

The guild participated in the Home Show. We started our fine arts series. Did you attend any of them?

An outstanding and different event took place on the stage of the Wieting. The Iowa Supreme Court heard 2 cases and decided later the outcome of each. Another first took place at the theatre. We had a wedding performed. It was lovely and made it quite a week.

STC Honor Awards were presented on stage.

We had a free program on Womens’ Rights that was called “Respect.”

This takes us to June when we started the extra movie showings. Thursdays were added to our regular weekends.
