Donald C. Foreman

Donald C. Foreman, 89, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center under the care of Grinnell Regional Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Leanna Van Zandt officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Donald was born on January 14, 1928, in Corydon, Iowa, the son of Leslie M. and Wilma (Kendall) Foreman.

On July 7, 1950, he was united in marriage to Mildred Louise Hurt at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She preceded him in death along with two young daughters in 1953. On December 11, 1954, he was united in marriage to Karlene Abbe in Marshalltown, Iowa. Donald farmed and also worked for Willer Ag for many years and later Oran Ag Service.

He enjoyed wood working and going to auctions. Donald loved animals and befriended many over the years.

Survivors include three children, Deborah (Dave) Wacha of Toledo, Lonnie Foreman of Milford, IA, and Gordon Foreman of Gordon, TX; three grandchildren, Amy (Dan Jr.) Parizek, Kelly Wacha, and Adam (Cheri) Foreman; six great-grandchildren, Abbie and Sydney Parizek, MaeLeigh, Kendy, and Kason Wacha, and Shawna Foreman; one brother, Wayne (Dorothy) Foreman of Toledo; and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Foreman of MO.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mildred and two daughters, Donna Louise and Linda Diane in 1953; his wife, Karlene on September 6, 2015; one sister, Lucille Estes; and one brother, Keith Foreman.

Memorials may be directed to Grinnell Regional Hospice, Toledo Ambulance Service, and Tama Ambulance Service.
