Arthur Alfred Posusta

Arthur Alfred Posusta, 89, of Toledo and formerly of Tama, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 4-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Private Interment will be held at a future date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.

Arthur was born on April 19, 1926, at home in rural Toledo, Iowa, the son of Frank and Anna (Podhajsky) Posusta.

He graduated from Toledo High School.

On January 25, 1949, he was united in marriage to Betty Caster at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Art was a farmer and also did custom trucking for over fifty years. He was a fifty year member of KD Lodge in Clutier. Art liked woodworking in his spare time. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Betty of Toledo; his daughter, Diane (Richard) Popelka of Traer; his daughter-in-law, Jean Posusta of Billings, MT; his son-in-law, Duane Leek of Toledo; three grandchildren, Denise (Tim) Hemann of Marshalltown, Rick (Cheryl) Popelka of Traer and Daneen (Dirk) Henle of Toledo; seven great-grandchildren, Allie Kriz, Haley Hemann, Dalaynee and Draysen Henle, Megan, Tyler and Tate Popelka; his sister-in-law, Arlene Posusta of Traer; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, David Posusta; a daughter, Debra Leek; three brothers, George, Bill and Ernie Posusta; and two sisters, Eleanor Kupka and Lillian Hayek.

A memorial fund has been established.
