Luther Gene Roberts Born February 11, 1939 in Toledo, Iowa, passed away October 21, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada from Leukemia.

Luther began his life on the Meskwaki Indian Settlement and attended the Sac& Fox day School till he transferred to Horton Public High School in Horton Kansas where he graduated. Luther immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served two terms of duty. Shortly after he left the military he met and married Lorraine Andrews and they had three children together, Gabriel, Stephanie and Ulyeses. He spent many years working in Denver, Colorado for Montgomery Wards Retail, then moved Tama, Iowa where he worked at Meskwaki Bingo Casino & Hotel for several years and then moved on to Needles Calif., where he attended the American Indian Bible College and became an ordained member of the clergy.

Luther was an avid runner and could always be seen on the roads running in his spare time. A few of his other interests included reading, spending time with his friends and family and he loved everything about horse racing.

Luther was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Roberts, former wife Lorraine Roberts, brother Norwood Roberts and his son Gabriel Roberts. He is survived by a son Ulyeses Roberts, daughter Stephanie RobertsDorsey, sister Ernestine Keahna, brother Leighton Roberts and granddaughter Xavier Dorsey, also many nephews, nieces and friends too numerous to name.

Private services were held at an undisclosed location.
