Week three of Tama Library’s Summer Reading Program
Jenny and Emily from ISU Extension/Tama County 4-H presented a fun program on being spies. Jenny read the book “Spy Guys,” which everyone enjoyed.
Afterwards there were 3 stations of activities for the kids to do. At one table they made official spy badges, the next table was writing with invisible ink and at the third the kids made decoders and decoded a secret message.
Our craft was another type of message craft. The kids all played “The Floor is Lava” game that was purchased with our 5-2-1-0 grant. We had lemonade and starbursts for our snack. We drew names and gave away prizes donated by MercyCare and Hardee’s. Summer reading next Tuesday will be Jester Puppets from Des Moines. Don’t forget!
The PK & K kids met for some more fun on Thursday, June 22. We read: Woo Hoo!-You’re doing great!; Full Moon Pups; and Hooray for Birds. We made our craft stick project, had our snack and gave away some prizes.
