A street light pole fell in the 100 block of North Broadway across from the eats side of the Tama County Courthouse just after 8 p.m. Wednesday night, Feb. 12. Toledo Firefighters, Police and an Alliant Energy crew were dispatched to the scene. It was not immediately known if the winter storm had an effect or the pole simple failed. Several other metal poles have fallen over the years downtown. There was light snow and some wind at the time

The pole power was disconnected, the pole moved from the middle of the street by firefighters and wires removed from cars parked underneath.

Meanwhile, roadways were reported ice covered in the area by law enforcement. About 8 p.m. two Tama ambulances and Tama and Toledo Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in which two women were reported injured in the 900 block of Harding street. Shortly there after, a Toledo ambulance answered a call for a patient at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama.
