Tama County District Court

Before Judge Sean W. McPartland in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

Jason Michael Zimmerman,44, Toledo, entered a written guilty plea to a lesser charge of possession a controlled substance, marijuana, 2nd offense. He was sentenced to two years in prison with the sentence to run concurrently with a sentence for violation of terms of probation. Both prison sentences were suspended and he was ordered to reside in a residential correctional facility for up to 365 days.

Zimmerman orignally was charged in the 1300 block of South Church Street following a traffic stop. He was cited for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, drug tax stamp violation and obstruction of justice. The charges were filed by Toledo Police Officer F. C. Oster.

Edwin Noe Gaytan Morales, 21, Des Moines, entered a written guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance, marijuana,1st offense. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail with credit for 15 days already served and fined and assessed D.A.R.E., and law enforcement initiative surcharges and court costs totaling $620.

Morales was charged on Nov. 23 at West 14th Street and Country Club Drive by Tama Police Officer Daniel Sutfin.

Jacquez Jordan Nipwater, 20, rural Tama, entered a written guilty plea to first offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with all but two days suspended and credited for two days already served and fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,698. He was placed on supervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services for one year.

Nipwater was charged on April 20 at 295th and H Avenue, rural Toledo, by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Brandon Boldt.

Chaske Marie Brown, 30, Tama, received a deferred judgment on a previous plea of guilty to 1st offense drunken driving. She was asses a $1,250 civil penalty and directed to follow and successfully complete any substance abuse recommendations.

Brown was charged on Sept. 3 on U.S. Highway 63 by Toledo Police Detective Nathan Shepard.

ChristopherLartes Proctor,36,Toledo, entered written guilty pleas to charges of domestic abuse enhanced and domestic abuse assault- strangulation without injury. He was sentenced to two years in prison on each charge with the sentences to run consecutively and to run concurrently with sentences imposed in Marshall and Black Hawk counties. He was fined and assessed court costs and domestic abuse surcharges totaling $1,888.

Proctor was charged on Oct. 26 in the 100 block of South Broadway by Toledo Police Sgt. Dan Quigley.

Guelord Embuma Famboma, 36, Tama, entered a written guilty plea to a charge of 1st offense drunken driving. He received a deferred judgment, was assessed a $315 civil penalty and was placed on unsupervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.

Famboma was charged in the 1700 block of Harding on Oct. 18 by Tama Police Sgt. Anthony Rodriquez.

Jody Marie Rutledge, 48, Toledo, received a deferred judgment on a previous plea off guilty to 1st offense drunken driving. She was assessed a civil penalty court costs and a D.A.R.E. surcharge totaling $1,290. She was placed on unsupervised probation for one year.

Rutledge was charged on May 3 in the 1100 block of McClellan by Tama Police Officer Tyler Ayala-Pagan.

Shawn Jeffrey Dugan, 24, Beaman, Iowa, was sentenced upon a previous written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving to 30 days in jail with all but two suspended. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,479. One half the fine amount totaling $625 will be suspended if proof of installation of an ignition interlock device is received. He was placed on unsupervised probation for one year.

Dugan was charged on Aug. 31 in the 1100 block of Tama County Road T47, rural Reinbeck, after his vehicle went into a ditch by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Neil Frizzell.
