Toledo Public Library News

Summer has arrived at the Toledo Library! The library staff are prepared for all the upcoming programs for our community. There are programs for kids in June and July including movie days, LEGO Lab, Builder’s Lab, Art Lab and Science Lab.

Also in June the library will host movie days for kids and adults, an Afternoon Adventure and a Colorpalooza coloring program for ages 13 and up.

There is no sign up necessary for the Colorpalooza that is held from 1:30 3:00 on Tuesdays. The Tama County Extension Office will host a Babysitting Course on June 8th from 10-4. There is a small fee for this event and sign up is required.

Sign up for the adult summer reading program will begin June 1st. In July, the library will host the annual Summer Reading Program, Build a Better World, with programs running July 5th & the 6th, July 10th the 13 and July 17th 20th .

The library foundation will host a book talk on Thursday, June 22nd at 7 p.m. Carson and Connie Ode are the authors of Celebrate Iowa, Iowa-Spaces, Places, Faces and their most recent book titled, Iowa Culture-Past and Present.

They will be discussing Iowa, travel, and how they began the process of writing their books. We hope you can join us for this interesting and educational event.
