Baby sitter class offered in Toledo

ISU Extension and Outreach, Tama County, invites all boys and girls who have completed grades 5-8, to learn how to become a great babysitter. This training will take place on Thursday, June 8 at the Toledo Public Library. The class will meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $10 for snacks and supplies. Bring a sack lunch.

Participants will learn about: the responsibilities of a babysitter; caring for infants and young children; age appropriate toys and activities; safety and how to handle emergencies and basic first aid. All participants will go home with a bag filled with activity ideas to take with them babysitting and a first aid kit. This is a great event for those who might be staying at home with younger siblings too!

Class will be limited to 20 and is open to everyone! You don’t have to be in 4-H to attend. Register by June 1st by contacting the Tama County Extension Office at 641-484-2403 or jhulme@iastate.edu. Forms are also available at the Toledo Public Library.
