Behounek wins Children’s Book Week contest at Toledo Library
Natalya Behounek was the winner of the book, bean bear and candy jar at the Toledo Library’s National Children’s Book Week celebration. Congratulations Natalya.
Library staff encourages children to use the library during this week by challenging them to participate in the weekly events.
On Monday, May 1, in Studio Time the kids created May Day Baskets to take home and share. All throughout the week, there was a scavenger hunt where kids locate different resources all around the library, then they can earn up to three prizes for completing the hunt; one for completing all ten questions, one for listing the librarian’s name on their sheet and one for reading a book to a librarian.
On Wednesday, for Art Lab, our special guest was Tama County Youth Coordinator Jenny Hulme from the Tama County Extension Office. She provided our group with a fun craft challenge that all the kids really enjoyed. We always have fun with our guests! All of these events made up for a fun-filled week for our library kids and staff.
