On Friday and Saturday, November 8 & 9, 28 members of South Tama's Thespian Troupe #1038 attended the Iowa Thespian Festival at the University of Northern Iowa. There are a number of successes to report.
At the festival South Tama students performed Defying Gravity on the Main Stage (more information coming soon). Also two seniors auditioned for scholarship opportunities and both of STC's candidates were finalists to receive the Iowa Thespian Scholarship. Clarissa Rosenberger was a finalist in Theatre Education, and Julie Matta was selected to receive a $1,000 Acting scholarship.
In addition, they each received callbacks for colleges from around the Midwest from which each received varying offers. Rosenberger and Matta have been invited to audition on Fine Arts Scholarship Day at the University of Northern Iowa.
