Before Chief Judge Patrick R. Grady in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

Brenton James Roberts, 38, rural Montour, admitted violation of terms of probation and was found in contempt of court. he was sentenced to 60 days in jail with credit for 60 days already served and ordered directed to be released form custody. He was discharged from probation.

Roberts was cited in a probation report for failure to return to the Lary Nelson Center and was cited for escape and for previously returning to the center on another date and found to be in possession / use of alcohol.

Roberts was orignally sentenced for assaulting Meskwaki Nation Police Officer Eric Lindsey casing bodily injury, was fined and received a suspended sentence on Dec. 6, 2018 in Tama County District Court.

Before Judge Sean McPartland:

Keith Shannon McNeil, 33, Lincoln, Neb., entered a written guilty plea to possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail with credit for any time already served and fined and assessed court costs totaling $560. A charge of manufacture of a controlled substance, marijuana, was dismissed in a plea agreement.

McNeil was charged in a trial information filed on Oct. 17, 2003. He was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on July 26, 2019, at the Woodbury county Jail, Sioux City by the Tama County Sheriff's Office.

Ryan Jason Papakee, 47, rural Tama, admitted being in violation of probation on convictions for assault- serious injury on Feb. 27, 2016, and willful injury causing bodily injury on Dec. 31, 2015.

He was sentenced to two five year prison sentences to be served consecutively as was an order in a judgment entered by Judge Mary Chicchelly on May 18, 2017. Papakee was credited for any time previously served in jail or community corrections facility.

He was cited in a probation violation report for checking out of the Lary Nelson Correctional Facility to go to work on Aug. 17 and not returning. He was listed as an escapee.

Papakee was charged with aiding and abating an attack on a victim resulting in factures on Dec. 13, 2015, by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police. On Feb. 16, 2016, he was charged with assault with willful injury for causing serious injury by fracturing facial bones and causing a concussion to the victim by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police.
