Alan Kendall Timm

Alan Kendall Timm, 75, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Alan was born in Marshalltown to Alfred and Gertrude (Clark) Timm on October 3, 1943. Alan was raised in Tama. He graduated from South Tama High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Beverly Masker on March 24, 1962 at St. John's Church in Tama. They had 5 children. Alan worked at Lennox Industries in Marshalltown for 46 years. After retirement, he enjoyed driving semi for the mattress factory in Toledo and hauling grain for farmers.

Alan and Bev enjoyed being part of the Eagles Drill Team. He mostly enjoyed riding Harleys with friends and family. Alan and Bev ran the Town Pump for 20 years. Alan enjoyed taking his "bus" full of family and friends tailgating at Iowa State football games.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Bev Timm, of 57 years; his 5 children Tammy (Jim) Kalinay of Toledo; Tom (Sky) Timm of Marshalltown; Tara (Curt) Kaufman of Chelsea; Toni (Brad) Chaska of Tama; and Todd (Amanda) Timm of Toledo; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; siblings: Dave (Joleen) Timm of Tama; Janice (Randy) Huff of Tama; Kathy (Ed) Ohrt of Gladbrook; and Chris Timm of Colo; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Gertrude Timm; sisters Judith Ann Timm and Mary "Cindy" Kaloupek; grandson, Cristian Timm-Vest; and nephew, Noah Ohrt.

Per his wishes. family will have a private burial service. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019, from 4-8 p.m. at the Tama Eagles.
