What are Tama County’s buildings value?

Tama County Supervisors reviewed the county's insurance through the 10-member Heartland Insurance Risk Pool on Monday, June 10, including a listing of county-owned property. Tammy Wise, county insurance administrator, provided the comprehensive list. It includes a total of 54 buildings of varying sizes and uses. The totals according to the Heartland Risk Management Pool property schedule is buildings- insured for a total of $17,650,563 and content insured for $4,725,940.

Coverage Carried

Coverage amounts for buildings ranging from the Tama County Courthouse in Toledo to road department sheds in across the county to a pair of "shooting stations" at the Izaak Walton Shooting Facility at rural Toledo were included.

The insurance premium is listed at $77,601 annually.

Courthouse and Jail, Toledo $6.5 million

Historical Jail Museum, Toledo $1.6 million

Engineer's Office and Shop Tama $765,000 and $200,000 for content

Otter Creek Conservation Center and Diorama exhibit, rural Toledo (total with contents)$1.66 million

Sheds: Gladbrook $170,000; Lincoln $111,000; Chelsea $176,000; Montour $226,000; Dinsdale $95,000; Traer $188,000; Toledo $503,000 and shed and hoop building $604,000; Dysart $280,000; Clutier $275,000; Garwin $330,000

Six buildings at Landfill, rural Toledo $247,000

Administration Building, Toledo $1.7 million

Annex Building Toledo $1 million
