Gladys Marie Maule

February 6, 2019
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Gladys Marie Maule was born in rural Elberon on August 31, 1923, to Emil and Mary Zeman Yilek. She passed away on January 22, 2019, at the Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Maule on July 19, 1941, in Missouri. Thomas passed away May 3, 1985.

To this union there were three children born, Larry Maule of What Cheer, Eugene (Marge) Maule of What Cheer and Bonnie (Raymond) Schwab of Sherrard, Ill.

Gladys attended rural schools and worked for different families before she married, caring for the family and helping around their homes. She worked at Funk's for many years sorting corn and also worked in Traer and Dysart at the nursing homes there. She spent two summers working at the A & W Root Beer Stand in Vinton and loved every minute of that.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and all her family, especially family get-togethers with all her nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by all. There will be a celebration of life for her at a later date.
