Harold R. Skramovsky, 89, of Beaman, IA, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad, IA. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2018, at Beaman United Methodist Church in Beaman. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services, at the church. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Beaman. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Conrad Chapel of Anderson Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be sent to

Harold was born September 10, 1929, to Alex and Tressa (Kopsa) Skramovsky in Marshalltown, IA. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1948. Harold was enlisted in the Marines and was a Corporal in the Korean War from November 27, 1950, to May 8, 1952. He was united in marriage to Lois Lynch on June 6, 1953, at Beaman United Methodist Church. Harold was employed by the Beaman Cooperative where he drove fuel truck and worked in the feed mill. He was a member of the Beaman American Legion, Moose Lodge, Beaman Methodist Church, Beaman City Council, and Beaman Betterment Club. Harold was the Beaman Mayor, the Fire Chief of the Beaman Fire Department, and the Grundy County Sheriff Reserve. Harold and Lois were active and instrumental in starting the Beaman Senior Citizens Group.

Harold is survived by his sons: Ken (Carla) Skramovsky of Conrad and Mike (Cindy) Skramovsky of Beaman; granddaughters Angie (Ryan) Mathern of rural Beaman, Katie (Martin) Cram of Cedar Rapids, IA, Cara (Mike Kruse) Skramovsky of Burbank, CA; three great grandsons: Brandon, Nolan, and Gannen; three great granddaughters: Kendall, Livy, and Lexie; and one sister, Linda (Joe) Newman of West Plains, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents; and his brothers, Don Skramovsky and Karl Skramovsky.
