Before Judge Kevin McKeever in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

Robert Daniel Godfrey, 47, St. Petersburg, Fla., pleaded guilty to forgery. He was sentenced to five years in prison and assessed $540 court costs. The sentence is to be served concurrently with a Polk County sentence on a drug tax stamp charge. He was also directed to make victim restitution. A $750 fine was suspended.

Godfrey was charged with attempting to spend a counterfeit $50 bill at a Meskwaki Casino table game on Oct. 29, 2017. The charge was filed by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Sgt. Kenneth Raymond Brady.

AdamAlexander Bruce, 31, Waterloo, was sentenced to a suspended five-year prison term on an earlier plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana, 3rd or subsequent offense. He was directed to complete a residential treatment facility program for up to 365 days. The sentence is to run concurrently with a Black Hawk County sentence. A $750 fine was suspended. Court costs totaling $180 were assessed and Bruce was placed on probation for three years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.

Bruce was charged on March 18 in the 3300 block of Hickory hills Road, rural La Porte City by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Brian Randall.

Richard Kent Graw, 47, Marshalltown, pleaded guilty to eluding. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for any time already served and assessed $100 court costs.

Graw was charged on April 16 in the 1400 block of U.S. Highway 30 by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Shawncey Day.

Bryce Thomas Vernon Graves, 22, Montezuma, entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving. He received a deferred judgment and was assessed a civil penalty and court costs totaling $1,380. A total of $625 of the civil penalty will be waived if Graves obtains a temporary restricted license when eligible.

He was placed on supervised probation, directed to pay the enrollment fee to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.

Graves was charged in the 400 block of State Street on Feb. 24 by Tama Police Officer Jeremy Walther.

Robert Daniel Needs, 41, Garwin, admitted violation of terms of probation and was found in contempt of court. He was directed to continue on self-supervised probation for one year and to pay remaining court costs during the probation term.

Needs was cited in a County Attorney's information for failure to pay court fines totaling $1,556 which was part of his probation agreement.

He was orignally sentenced on March 19, 2016, on a charge of 2nd offense drunken driving.

Before Judge Chad A. Kepros:

Wesley Dwayne Ewoldt, 29, Dysart, entered a written guilty plea to simple misdemeanor assault as the result of a plea bargain. Judgment was deferred and Ewoldt was a $65 civil penalty and placed on self-supervised probation. He was directed to pay a $300 supervisory fee to the Department of Correctional Services and to pay court costs not to exceed $300.

Ewoldt was originally charged on Feb. 26 with domestic abuse assault- injury or mental illness for allegedly assaulting his wife and two counts of child endangerment for the assault taking place with minors present. The charges were filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Wes Sebetka.

Tammie Lynn Mellies, 42, Toledo, entered a written guilty plea on a charge of drunken driving. She was sentenced to two days in jail and fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,828. The court will waive $625 of the fine amount if proof of installation of an ignition interlock device is received.

Mellies was placed on supervised probation to the Department of Correctional Services and directed to pay a $300 supervisory fee. She was also directed to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and to complete a drinking drivers course.

She was charged on Jan. 8 on North Church Street by Toledo Police Officer Nathan Wunn.
