One goal of the season for the STC Wrestling team was Team Regional Duals. They came one step closer than they did two years ago but ultimately fell short.

The Trojans travelled to Ballard High School on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The first dual of the night was between South Tama and Atlantic-CAM. To make the best use of their roster several of the STC wrestlers bumped up a weight class.

The adjustment started with STC's Garret Arp at 138. Arp beat Tanner Williamson 4-2. At 145 Tanner Probasco won by major decision, 10-2, over Colton Mudd. At 152 Colton Vest pinned Payton Fewson. Isaac Judge got a tech fall over Kenny Jimerson (26-11). At 170 Pedro Rodriguez topped Connor Pellett 2-0. Dalton Rosenburg stuck Marcus Duranceau at 182. Cael Kellogg defeated Cale Roller 4-2 at 195 and Mario Moncada pinned Devin McKay at 220.

The first eight wins were enough to support the next six losses. The Trojans forfeited weight classes 285 and 113 and took losses at the remaining weight classes. The final score had the Trojans winning 36-30.

The next dual for the Trojans was between STC and No. 3 ranked Ballard. The dual started at 145. Colton Vest and Isaac Judge each got tech falls at 145 and 152 over Josh Borg and Ben Hokel. The next win for the Trojans came with Dalton Rosenburg at 195. Rosenburg got a major decision over Joseph Hofbauer. The Trojans fell in the next two matches. STC freshman Brody Chyma pinned Jordan Thomas at 106. The final win for the Trojans came at 132 when Brady Fritz stuck Jim Chism.

The Trojans ended up falling to Ballard 53-26.

After the loss the Trojans moved on to focus on the District Tournament in Knoxville. The Trojans travelled to Knoxville where they advanced all six of their wrestlers to the Individual State Tournament in Des Moines. Brady Fritz, Tanner Probasco, Colton Vest, Isaac Judge, Dalton Rosenburg and Mario Moncada each punched their ticket to state on Saturday.
