Several STC students and community members got a taste of the great sport of football at the Power in Pink Clinic on Monday Aug. 25.
The Clinic was organized by Vickie Hoskey, Amber Bolen and Chelsea Ahrens and was a fundraiser for the STC football teams.
At the clinic the girls were broken into groups. Each group got a chance at four stations led by the STC football coaching staff. Head Coach Jay Hoskey taught a session on throwing a football, assistant coach Nate Doran coached the girls on the art of tackling, Nate Van Dyke and Scot Bolen led a session about how to run routes and Cort Ahrens showed how to properly block.
Coach Jay Hoskey closes the night with a little “chalk talk” in the little theatre at the STC High School. Hoskey explained a couple of different plays to the participants of Power in Pink.

After each group got a chance to visit the stations the girls then came together for a punting, kicking and passing contest.
With a punt of 37 feet, pass of 34 feet and kick of 29 feet junior Maddie Bacon took the top honors as the student winner. The adult winner was Sarah Murphy.
